Ridiculous way to prove f^*\omega = \omega
Just didn't feel like making an explicit computation. It seems that if
you can prove something by saying something is true rather than checking
that two constructions give the same thing, then you should do it...

Largish set of changes to curves
Tried to say something intelligent about nodal curves without every base
changing to the algebraic closure... this may have been a mistake, but I
am still somewhat happy about it so far.
Next up: stable curves as contractions of nodal ones
